After scoping out the event’s Friday Daylight session, we continue to recap the events, exhibitors, games and more, showcased the following night – the Saturday Twilight session @ EB Games Expo 2015.
Rolling as a group of five, we planned on grabbing lunch about 2 hours beforehand, but of course, we were off to a sluggish start. Good thing we munched our meals up with the quickness, managing to reach Sydney Showgrounds 20 minutes before our session started.
As you may remember from my previous post, for each session that is run at EB Expo, there would be a Street Fighter V tournament. Having entered the tournament for Friday Daylight myself, the others would enter today’s.
While some of the others were being occupied by the Street Fighter V tournament, with my camera, I decided to have a better look at whatever I missed the previous day.
After my friends heard I won a tee from the Need for Speed booth, they had me have another attempt at topping the scoreboard. Problem was, they increased the requirements necessary to score the prize. 100000+ Rep Points on top of placing first against the other competitors. Having achieved around 60000 on the Friday, I followed it with an improved 70000 Rep Points, but sadly not enough to score another tee.
Ignoring the fact that Rep Points were the main focus of the 10 minutes with the game, after having played it a couple of times, I’m pretty excited for the Need for Speed’s release in a few weeks (5th of November). I trust that the people behind the game, this coming from a Speedhunters reader, will be war-ready, NFSUG series successor or not. Now, if they add some daylight to the game…
Now, let’s make our way back towards Street Fighter V…
Having strategically spent our time capturing photos and playing whatever did not require us to wait an hour or more using a general admission pass (CoD BOPS3, Star Wars Battlefront, etc.), the session was pretty much over with the tournament finally finishing up for the remainder of the competitors.
As for freebies, there wasn’t really much to acquire during the Twilight session as I’m sure those that attended the Daylight session cleaned up. I’m a bit bummed that the 2K booth had run out of NBA 2K16 Special/Michael Jordan Edition posters, after not being able to pre-order the SE copy of the game weeks ago… but it was a fun time nonetheless.
That pretty much wraps up my recap of EB Games Expo 2015. On to the next one!
